Course Description
This course provides an in-depth overview of emerging pest management challenges in almond orchards. The session covers two recently detected invasive pests: Red Leaf Blotch and the Carpophilus truncatus beetle, a new pest threatening almond, pistachio, and walnut crops. Experts from the Almond Board of California and UC Riverside share the latest research, including disease cycles, biology, and integrated pest management strategies for both pests. The course also explores the importance of collaboration among growers, researchers, and regulatory agencies in tackling these growing threats and preventing further spread.
